Sympatico may be a newer agency, but we have years of experience with travel nursing and healthcare. Let us show you how amazing travel nursing can be! Inspiring healthcare professionals since 2021.
YOUR NEW ADVENTURE AWAITS
We All Deserve a Job That Gives us Freedom
Nursing agencies are one of the biggest #trends in helping fill the current healthcare staffing shortage. Even in pre-pandemic times, there was a known shortage of healthcare workers in remote areas, and even in larger cities. The opportunities for travel healthcare professionals have never been so vast! Whether wanting to travel for life experience, career development, or simply for a more competitive wage; travel healthcare has become not only an opportunity for nurses, but also an area of opportunity for any healthcare professional.
Because Being a Nurse is More Than a Job – It’s a Way of Life
The Sympatico advantage is that we will advocate for our staff to help achieve memorable travel experiences and comfortable living situations. Our easy to use online platform and employee portal is readily available for staff to ease the assignment placement process. We provide unique bonus incentives to staff working the equivalent to full time and our approach reveals to our team that we advocate for, and take pride in our staff.
Sympatico Medical Solutions
The Faces of Sympatico Medical Solutions
We are so happy to have launched a new travel nursing agency that is inclusive and professional, with a flair for both travel experience and healthcare, creating a work-life balance that is important for everyone.
My background in healthcare began in 2014, at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, BC.
I worked on many different units and in a few different positions including unit clerk, scheduling clerk, and outpatient booking in Medical Imaging.
I was able to work on the inpatient units and see how things work with all the different allied healthcare professionals to help patients while they are admitted. I was also able to work on the outpatient side of things when patients need to come to the hospital for their medical appointments. With this experience, I gained an appreciation for healthcare providers and the teams behind the scenes that support patient care.
Kim and I partnered in 2020, right after the pandemic started, with a vision to shift the travel nursing industry and stand out above the rest with our passion for travel nursing and supporting our frontline workers. We wanted to make sure each and every one of our team members felt like they were part of the team and not “just a number”, as felt by nurses with their current agencies.
Fast forward 2 years and Sympatico is now a top agency with over 200 RNs, LPNs, RPNs, CLXTs, medical imaging techs, and physiotherapists... and we are still growing!
Our mission is to ensure that we are able to connect with our team members and ensure they feel supported and confident on their travel nursing journey!
While traveling, I completed various contracts throughout BC, including Northern BC, Interior BC, Coastal BC, the Fraser Valley, and Vancouver Island. Being a travel nurse could be challenging because at times, staffing coverage is minimal and at times this means “all hands on board”. Travel nursing introduced me to some of the most amazing nurses and allowed me to take part in some life and career changing moments. Travel nursing is where my passion for nursing was reignited.
Having been a nurse for 10 years, there has been a clear need for change in the industry and we are proud that we not only see the need for change but also the need to take action to overcome some of the challenges healthcare professionals face daily. Showing our team support, reliability, accountability and our passion for making a difference has been the most rewarding part of our Sympatico journey.
I am currently living on Vancouver Island and I enjoy exploring the West Coast and adventuring on my days off - chasing waterfalls, camping and finding local shops & eateries along the way. Living and working all over BC allows me to offer our team some insight into the highlights they may find along the way!
At Sympatico Med, we recognize the importance of balance between work and lifestyle. We are here to offer you support and guidance through all steps, from onboarding to securing assignments and any additional support while on assignment. Working with us may be your opportunity to have a career that you don’t need a vacation from.
I have now moved back to Prince George where I have worked at the hospital locally in Medical Imaging Bookings. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends going to the gym, camping, lake days, kayaking, snowshoeing, and all the many activities the North has to offer.
I have recently come on with Sympatico Medical Solutions as the Administrative Assistant, where I am looking forward to learning and challenging myself in a new role. I am grateful to be working with such a wonderful team of people and am excited to be a part of such a fast growing professional company. I encourage everyone to reach out with any questions and I will do my best to help in any way I can. If I don’t have the answers, I will be sure to put you in touch with the right team member to assist with your needs.
